                               RESOLUTION NO. 20153
                  
                  
                   A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO
                   EXECUTE AND SUBMIT AN APPLICATION TO THE
                   UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND
                   URBAN DEVELOPMENT (HUD) FOR AN EMERGENCY
                   SHELTER GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF SEVENTY-THREE
                   THOUSAND DOLLARS ($73,000.00) TO PROVIDE FOR
                   THE OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE OF SHELTERS AS
                   AUTHORIZED BY THE STEWART B. MCKINNEY
                   HOMELESS ASSISTANCE ACT OF 1987 AND THE
                   AMENDMENTS THERETO OF 1988 IN THE AMOUNTS
                   SET FORTH HEREIN.
                  
                  
                                                    
                  
                  
       	    	 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
       CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That the Mayor be and is hereby 
authorized
       to execute and submit an application to the United States
       Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for an 
Emergency
       Shelter Grant in the amount of $73,000.00 to provide for the
       operation and maintenance of shelters as authorized by the 
Stewart
       B. McKinney Homeless Assistance Act of 1987 and the Amendments
       thereto of 1988 as follows:
       	    The Chattanooga Community Kitchen  -    $38,800.00
       	    Dismas House   	     	       -    $ 7,200.00
       	    Family and Children's Services     -    $12,000.00
       	    Chattanooga Room In The Inn	       -    $11,000.00
       	    The Salvation Army	     	       -    $ 4,000.00
